An Introduction
We have been familiar with Punta Chivato and Playa Santa Ines (near the resort town of Mulege, Baja
California Sur) for many years.  Recently, a change in Mexican law made beachfront land available for
purchase by non-Mexicans.  When a large parcel of virtually undisturbed desert land right on the
beautiful shell-strewn beach became available, we jumped at the chance to realize our dream of a
small nature-friendly community of private homes that would complement the beauty and serenity of
the landscape.

Costa Cardonal is now a growing community - but a few lots are still available.  A great deal of thought
has gone into this project.
Nature comes first - large areas of the property have been set aside as
open space.
Residential density is low - there are only 14 lots, and each lot is approximately 1700
square meters in size (that's nearly 1/2 acre!).  Moreover, the equivalent of another 1/2 acre per
home site is set aside within the community for the use and enjoyment of residents.

Costa Cardonal is not for everyone, but it may be just right for you. You might rather walk on an
unspoiled beach than through a shopping mall.  You may delight in seashells and star-filled nights and do
well without traffic jams and smoggy air.  You might consider the opportunity to make your own
electricity through the sun's power a relief from the price and service instability of your local power
company.  You may value quiet serenity, interrupted only by the gentle sound of the waves, and may not
miss the sounds of traffic and industry.

If these sentiments describe you, and you are searching for a place to enjoy revitalizing vacations, to
settle into your ideal retirement, or to practice your particular art or craft, then consider

(Oh, by the way, our name refers to the forests of unique giant cardon cactus ("cardonal") that grow
along this coast.)
